I want to move my 50 inch tv to a different room but it is stuck to my glass tv stand. It is stuck to the glass shelf that it sits on. The tv is not attached to the shelf with screws or hooks, it seems as if there is some type of adhesive on the bottom of the tv itself. How can I remove the tv from the stand?

I placed a Glade air freshener (the liquid kind) on an envelop on top of my cherry TV stand. I noticed last night that the liquid had seeped out of the container, got onto the enveloped and onto the table. I lifted the enveloped but it was stuck to the finish. When I finally got it off, the liquid had dissolved some of the finish on the stand down to bare wood. I called a professional to get a quote on how much to repair the damage and they quoted me about half the cost of the stand. Since the damage is only on one fist-sized area and it’s a very small portion when compared to the size of the stand, I decided to try repairing it myself. I emailed the manufacturer to find out exactly what type of finish they use and I am awaiting for their response.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what steps I should use to  fix such a mess? Do you know any professionals that can do it for a good price? What are my alternatives? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The TV in my bedroom is inside of an armoire but it is too low. I have to sit way up in my bed to see over my feet. I would like my tv to sit about a foot higher. Does anyone have ideas about how to do this? I would rather not install some kind of shelf in the armoire that would involve screwing or nailing it in. Are there any shelves or small stands I can buy to just set inside the armoire?

Would this work? It’s only 9-1/4″ high but it’s all I could find.

Is it possible that a TV stand with an arm that says it can hold up to a 50″ LCD or plasma TV and 135 lbs, actually hold a 52-inch HDTV?

We just bought a 50 inch flat screen TV and I think it doesn’t really look right in our modest and homey living room. It’s not a TV that stands on its’ own so we need to buy a TV stand for it but I’m not too sure how it’s going to look. Any ideas on making a big screen fit in a warm and casual living room?

Also, there is already a lot of things in this room; a reclining chair, an over sized chair, an over sized sleeper sofa, an upright piano (cherry wood), a DVD/CD rack and two large speakers for the surround sound. The room is real long and our home office is at one end.

The color of the TV is black but all the other furniture is more neutral colors. Is there any way to get this TV to fit in or will it always look like the odd ball? Any ideas on stands? Our home is anything but contemporary but that’s the only kind of stand we’ve been able to find.

I have a DLP HDTV that weighs 130 lbs. I bought a wood and glass TV stand and it says the maximum weight for the tempered glass top shelf  is 135 pounds. Is this going to be okay? Will it hold the TV safely or is this to close to the maximum weight?

I just bought a new subwoofer for my home theater system but I don’t have any space on the floor where I can put it. It will fit inside my entertainment center which also houses my receiver and blue ray. Will the vibration from the subwoofer cause any problems for the other equipment?

I have a glass tv stand but I don’t know what make it is and I don’t even remember where I got it from. I have had my 32″ LCD on it, but next month I am getting a 42″ LCD. I don’t know what the weight limit is for the glass stand (stupid me for throwing away the instructions). The glass shelf is 31 inches between the supports and 3/8 inch thick. Will it take the weight of a 42″ LCD?

This is a great glass TV stand that’s available in the U.K.  We haven’t found an identical one that’s available in North America, but this one is very similar, just a little taller (about 10″) and an additional shelf.

I left a candle burning on top of my wood entertainment center and the wax spilled and got all over the top and back of it. Is there an easy way to get this wax off besides scraping it all off?

I bought an entertainment center from Ikea. It has 3 shelves, glass doors on the front and just one hole in the back for the wires (about 3 or 4 inches in diameter). I have a VCR, a DVD player, two TiVo’s, and a Sony receiver/amplifier inside this enclosed space and I think it’s getting too hot in there. Any suggestion about how I can ventilate it?

I need a piece of unfinished oak wood to replace the entire top of a TV cabinet.
Does home depot sell this type of wood? I couldn’t find it on their web site. Would any other lumber store carry it? By the way, I live in Michigan. Also, how expensive would it be?

I think its time for me to get a new TV stand for my 32inch lcd TV, my Xbox 360, PS3 and speakers. I wanted to ask if you think I should get a glass TV stand or would a wood one be better. If you could recommend one, that would be great! It needs to be at least 100cm wide, but the other dimensions don’t really matter. I like the black glass TV stands rather than clear glass. Also, drawers would be nice for storage.

I don’t have a TV stand for my TV yet. I know that placing the TV directly on the carpet is not good, but will a piece of wood good enough?

I have a large wood entertainment center that has beveled edges and I’m worried that my baby is going to bump her head on a corner. I have seen the things that you put on coffee tables but I don’t think they will work on this. I have searched babiesrus, target and walmart websites but I haven’t found anything that will work.

I recently bought a yew wood tv cabinet. The color is much more orange than the other yew wood furniture that I have had for many years. Is there anything I can do to darken the new item so it will match the rest of the furniture? I think it is veneer on fiber board.

I’m looking for a new sofa for our finished basement. The walls are warm butter yellow and the TV armoire is light oak wood. It has white carpet and white floor-to-ceiling cabinets for the kids’ toys. The basement is an “L” shape, with one leg for the children’s toys, and the other leg for the entertainment area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My daughter (2 years old) marked up my new wood entertainment center with a black permanent marker. I have tried Magic Eraser with BAM but that only gets the places were it wasn’t too dark. If I damage the finish while trying to get it off, could I stain it back to it’s original color?

I’m thinking about buying a coffee table and end tables but the wood on these are darker than the wood on my TV stand and table and chairs. You would be able to see all of these pieces at the same time. Would it look better to have all the wood furniture to be closer to the same color of wood?

I bought two chocolate-colored end tables and a coffee table from pottery barn. They are gorgeous, but I can’t find an entertainment center that matches that isn’t way too expensive. The only affordable entertainment center I could find that I like is a black tv armoire. It’s real nice, but would the black armoire look alright with all the brown furniture in the room? I have black picture frames hanging on the wall, but I just don’t know about the armoire.
